New Save Sekisui House
As you may have already learned, at the 69th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of Sekisui House held on April 23, 2020, the shareholder proposal made by Messrs. Fumiyasu Suguro and Isami Wada were rejected.
The website <savesekisuihouse.com>, which was launched by us who love Sekisui House, has grown beyond what we originally envisioned. The community that has been built around this site has been a well of constantly flowing of support to Messrs. Suguro and Wada as well as to all the dissident slate directors. Shareholders, employees, and media reporters shared a great deal of information and opinions with us, and as a result, we functioned as an intermediary for such information and opinions to be communicated to the slate directors.
One of our achievements was bringing clarity to the consensus among stakeholders that corporate governance needs to be improved at Sekisui House. This website will therefore keep working to put pressure on Sekisui House to improve corporate governance. It will also continue to provide updates as information regarding the 2017 improper land transaction continues to unravel.
Moving forward, one of missions of <savesekisuihouse.com> will be to be consolidated destination for anyone to learn about the details of the land fraud incident, which Sekisui House will likely continue to hide. We therefore would appreciate and welcome if you could continue providing any information about Sekisui House. This includes information that may reflect the company improving on its approach to the land fraud incident.
The Save Sekisui House team has been supported by a large number of shareholders, employees, and members of the media. We would like to offer our deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out in support of our initiative. We will continue to work hard to improve corporate governance in Japan and abroad.
Sincerely,
Save Sekisui House Team
